[Topic] - CONSENT THOU NOT!
[Scripture] - Proverbs 1:10 (KJV) : "My son, if sinners thee, consent thou not."
[Message] - Good morning ☺.
John 15:19 tells us that we are not of the world because we have been called out of the world. Even though we live in it, we are under new management and leadership, that of the Lord Jesus Christ.
However, as we live in this world, there's every tendency to come across people who are of the world. We can't help coming in contact with them everyday and everywhere we go. There are in our schools, workplaces, and even in the church, and there will always be enticements from them.
Just as we believers are charged with winning souls into the kingdom, the people of the world are also charged with devouring of souls from the kingdom to the world, just as the devil is doing (1 Peter 5:8). Nowadays, the devil has packaged a lot of enticing things to pull believers to the world. For some it's a high paid job that God isn't happy with. For others, it's money, promotion, honour, fame, and so on.
Our anchor scripture tells us that when the world comes with its enticing gifts and baits, do not consent. We can't afford to lose what's most important to us - the salvation of our souls. Ananias and Sapphira, missed it because of money; Gehazi missed it for gifts, Judas missed it for money, Esau missed it for food. While Jesus was enticed with food, fame and honour but he didn't consent.
We are blessed as long as we do not consent to the enticing baits of unbelievers (Psalm 1:1-3). A lot of blessings await you but the enticing baits will also come. You have to stand your ground and not consent. Only after then, will you receive all that has been kept in store for you. If sinners entice thee, consent thou not!
