GOD'S REQUIREMENTS FROM YOU
(Scripture) :- Micah 6:8, KJV. "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"
(The Word) :- Good morning Beloved. Jesus loves you.
Over the centuries, even up till now, many have misunderstood what exactly it is that God requires from man. In 1 Samuel 15:22, we see that even King Saul made the same mistake, he thought God wanted burnt offerings and sacrifices. Also in Micah 6:6-7, we see that the children of Israel had the same question on their minds.
"With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? : Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” (ESV).
And then the answer came. God doesn't delight in offerings and sacrifices as much as he delights in:
- Honesty
- Mercy
- Humility.
When a man is honest and just, loves mercy and is humble, God is happy with such a person and then whatever offering or sacrifice that comes from such soul to God is accepted.
Are you honest and just? Do you love mercy? Are you humble? Without these three, God is not happy with you at all.
We should quickly note also, that these three things are the results of a saved soul. So until a soul is saved, these three brothers will never receive expression in that life. #SELAH
